I can not believe it has been that long ago. I was in this damn place when the doors gave way. I used to work for the Pass but have moved to a different? city now. I never want to relive that day.

I know a relief worker named Neil that came from Baraboo, WI, in Feb. 2006 for about a week. Are you? talking about that Neil?

Srirei January 26, 2012 at 7:38 pm

relief? worker

dysolution January 26, 2012 at 7:59 pm

Are you talking about a resident of Pass Christian or a hurricane relief? worker?

Srirei January 26, 2012 at 8:34 pm

lol, I don’t know. He could remember? EVERYBODY’S name though… if that helps.

dysolution January 26, 2012 at 8:56 pm

HARMONYskating January 26, 2012 at 9:16 pm

HARMONYskating January 26, 2012 at 9:40 pm

I was in Pass Christian doing relief work during March of 2006. I really wish I could have seen the town before Katrina. The library in this video sort of served as the relief headquarters while I was there. I’ll be going to New Orleans this July and I hope to take a day to go back to? Pass Christian.

Wow, what an amazing video. Another testament to the power of libraries (and librarians, of course!) Lisa from? Illinois (Children’s Librarian)

“…all of the police that were in there survived, because they were able to break? a door with a chair and swim out.”

dysolution January 27, 2012 at 12:06 am

The library is still there. Here are some photos I took while I was there: http://flickr.com/photos/dysolution/tags/library

The police tried to shoot out the windows, but the glass turned out to be bulletproof. To my knowledge, all of the police that were in there survived, because they were able to break a door with a? chair and swim out.

WOW, this was so incredible. I’m a librarian, and I can’t believe how tough that building is. Is it still there? Did everyone in? there get out OK?

Smeds101 January 27, 2012 at 1:41 am

empowermac January 27, 2012 at 6:14 am

I’m happy to help! This tutorial is almost two years old, so some things might have changed, like you need VLC in your? Applications Folder when you run the latest version of Handbrake (.94)

Glad you enjoyed it! Be sure and subscribe!

aberry89 January 27, 2012 at 6:34 am

thanks so? much for this fantastic tutorial. I would have figured it out eventually, but this tutorial speeded the process up a lot! THANKS A MILLION

baricuabxmami January 27, 2012 at 6:55 am

Losotheboss January 27, 2012 at 8:17 am

With the newest version of Handbrake? I was unable to get the option Ipod High Res. It it for my Iphone to I picked iphone/ ipod touch presets. It successfully converts the movie but when I place the movie in Itunes, I get a distorted picture, and when I put in in my Iphone I get the same distorted picture and the movie skips. I tried 2 different movies, with both the same effect. Can someone help?

tod1884 January 27, 2012 at 8:55 am

care?

empowermac January 27, 2012 at 9:46 am

Noooo! VLC has faaar fewer options? for DVD ripping, and often fails to circumvent DRM!

sassangorillaz January 27, 2012 at 9:56 am

how much memory does an average dvd take? up??

njtmedia January 27, 2012 at 10:29 am

What steps? do I take to use this process for Final cut for encoded videos? Thank you

tod1884 January 27, 2012 at 10:46 am

i? think u need vlc !

empowermac January 27, 2012 at 11:44 am

You MUST choose the “iPod High-Rez” setting in the “Presets” window. Anything above 640×480 output un Handbrake? will NOT play on an iPod!

allieooper January 27, 2012 at 12:42 pm

Hi there: Your video was very informative and easy to follow. I put in my DVD, did the? Handbrake thing (took 24 hours!!!) and dragged it into itunes from the desktop. It played beautifully on desktop. Trouble is when I updated my ipod the video wouldn’t transfer. It says it doesn’t recgonize the file even though it is mp4. Any ideas as to why it won’t copy to the ipod?
Thank you for your time.

empowermac January 27, 2012 at 1:20 pm

Err… I think you need a? program called, “Leopard.” It comes free on every Mac!

ernestolopez23 January 27, 2012 at 1:40 pm
